As you are aware that Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri is the first and foremost of the four Peethams and is the oldest spiritual establishment of the world having a legacy of 1200 years, founded by the great Philosopher Saint Sri Adi Shankara dating back to 788 AD and has 295 centers all across the world. Right from several Seers, Sages, Saints Like Swami Vivekananda, Dayananda Saraswati and others, like British Royal Families, British Vice Royals, National Leaders of Freedom Movement including Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Netaji Subhas Ch Bose, Pt. Along with these our endeavor of service to Global Humanity is age old practice, as has been initiated by our Jagagurus since time immemorial and we committed to it. Nature is full of works on the principle of "As you give, so shall you receive", or simply put "good for good, bad for bad". The puraanas (scriptures) and epics hail the glory of Anna Daan. ‘Annam’ means food (grain) and ‘Daanm’ means service to humanity. A yajna is considered incomplete without Anna Daan. The primary survival kit for humans comprises three basic necessities 'Food, Shelter and Clothing', and food is considered vital among them.

Anna Daan is considered as Maha Daanam. It is believed that by donating food, the sins of births are removed. According to Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita : which means that food nourishes all creation.

In obedience to nature’s principle “As you give, so shall you receive”, charity by giving money would get you money, but charity by giving food shall get you more money which covers the cost of food, as well as for buying shelter and clothing too. Hence, Anna Daan is an important act of charity.

With the Blessings of Goddess Sharadamba and Jagadgurus we have taken up an initiative of “Anna Danam Deva” as “SRI SHARADA BHARATI ANNAPURNA ANNA DÄNAM SEVA CHHATRA (SRI SEVA)” for rendering service of Anna Seva to people at large irrespective of class, culture, caste region or religion for 365 days at our campus during lunch hours. This SEVA shall start at 11.30 AM until 01.30 PM everyday.

We earnestly appeal to be part of this “SRI SHARADA BHARATI ANNAPURNA ANNA DÄNAM SEVA” (SRI SEVA)” and to sponsor a day for the said purpose to have the blessings of GODDESS SRI SHARADAAMBA & THEIR HOLINESSES and to avail this great opportunity to serve the community at large. not only give satisfaction but also get immense benefit in all aspects of life.
